We are a small animal practice in South Wales, with branches in both Barry and Boverton. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. For your added convenience, there’s free parking for clients at the surgery.
Joao graduated in 2004 in Portugal and, after spending two years in mixed practice, has worked mainly with companion animals. He has been working in the UK since 2010, mainly in emergency and out of hours medicine in different hospitals and clinics in South Wales and England. Joao completed his PhD in cardiac physiology at Cardiff University in 2016 and is now our acting Clinical Director whilst Emma Powell is on maternity leave. In his free time he enjoys walks in the countryside and travelling with his family.
